The Thru-Bolt System

All wall logs are pre-drilled for the Thru-Bolt System designed to securely attach the entire log wall to the foundation. Thru-bolts are placed four on each corner, one on either side of windows, doors and fireplace openings, and approximately every 2 to 4 feet along the log wall. Tension springs are placed on top of each thru-bolt in order to compensate for any shrinkage or settling that may occur over time. The typical amount of settlement for our log walls average 1/4 to 1/2 inch per eight feet of wall height.
